5 Creative Ideas to Re-decorate your Home during COVID-19 Lockdown

Being homebound isn’t something we had imagined. It’s normal to feel the urge to set your wild spirit free. With the statewide lockdown in place, it’s time to channelize your energy in being more focused and productive.

Board games and binge-watching Netflix can keep you occupied and entertained for a while. But how long can you stay amused by it?

So, when you start feeling a little stir-crazy, pick out some untouched tasks within your home. There is always room to reshuffle the existing stuff, organize, and finally, put together in an altogether different fashion than before.

But, how to get on with new decor when you can’t buy any material for home decoration?

We’ll give you some tips.

Build Your ‘Workspace’

Distractions are bound to emerge as you work from home in this lockdown. It is unavoidable. So, let’s deal with it.

Find a secluded yet cozy space in your home. Set up a sofa chair and coffee/dressing table (to be used as a desk). Place a pen holder, stick upon a motivational quote to begin your day.

Make sure the router is placed nearby and the place is lit.

Add Indoor Plants

What makes your home healthier and happier is how you spruce it up with cute little plants and succulents. If you happen to have some in your balcony, why not bring those inside your home?

Give a green touch to empty corners, walls, and staircases. Make your home more beautiful and lively. You can add tulsi (holy basil) plant, aloe vera, spider plant or any tiny plant you have at home.

And, how about filling a vase with some real flowers? Yes, the ones that introduce a dash of fragrance and color to your home. Try it if you have some in your garden.

Revamp the Photo Wall

The simplest and the quickest way to refresh your living room is to rearrange the photo frames hanging on the wall. If there is a classic arrangement, go for an asymmetrical arrangement.

Home Re-decoration

Since you have ample time, opt for the trial and error method but make sure the place is big enough to accommodate it and that you don’t end up making extra holes in the wall just in case you need to switch back to the previous pattern.

Rearrange the Stuff

Your home is your sanctuary. It makes you feel safe and serene. If you change, it must change too. Try out these:

  • Without any addition, you can introduce a vibe of new beginnings by changing the placement of furniture.
  • The exchange of rugs and beautiful flower vase between a living room and bedroom can bring it all together.
  • Decluttering is a part of it. Do it.
  • If you have a lot of space, feel free to experiment with different contrasts of your home decor.

Now, relax, take a nap. You don’t have to do it all in one day. Take baby steps as you revamp your living space.

Repurpose Old Things

If you peek into your storeroom, you’re bound to find some old treasures and gems that you once admired the most—vintage bedsheets, old school china, a crafted wooden framed mirror, and so much more.

Home Re-decoration

It’s time to re-introduce them now when you have a drive to decorate your home again.

  • China plates can be hung on the wall. It’s a decor idea that never goes out of fashion.
  • Try your hands on old bedsheets with a pair of scissors and get started with creating wall-art pieces, coasters, and runners and what not.

In a Nutshell

Always remember, we, the humans, are born with the ability to find positivity despite the intensity of negativity. Take this lockdown as a chance to exhibit your unique talents, explore the unexplored with what you have on hand and show your home some love.

You will be amazed to see the results that redecoration can bring to your sweet home. Stay home, stay happy and don’t forget to create a beautiful corner for your own self, too. Cheers!
